A delicious recipe for Vegetarians - Butternut Squash Curry

This is one I got from my parents who went to some Vegetarian Indian cookery course and I absolutely adore it so I thought I would share it with you lot!

Butternut Squash/Pumpkin Curry

250 g Diced butternut Squash
2 green chillies or 1 red dry chilli
5ml Cumin seeds (1 tsp)
3ml Mustard Seeds (1/2 tsp)
3 ml salt (1/2 tsp)
12.5 ml oil (1tbsp)
curry leaves
Corriander for garnishing
12.5 ml sugar (1tbsp)

Method:
1. Heat oil in a pot, add cumin seeds, mustard seeds, curry leaves and chillies.
2. Braise for a few seconds, then add butternut squash and salt.
3. Allow to cook on low heat until butternut squash is cooked.
4. Add sugar, garnish with corriander and allow to simmer till liquid is absorbed.

Serve it with any rice you like or sometimes I serve it with wholemeal Pittas.

Clinique, Redness Solution Daily Protective Base SPF 15

I have put this post off for months so I would be completely sure what I think about this product.

To cut to the chase, I am sorry I purchased it and I will not be repurchasing from Clinique again.

1. Service.
I have never had anything but  passive aggressive, "I am better than you are and you have no idea what you are talking about" treatment from Clinique sales people every time I go to their counter in any of the shops in Dubin.

2. Consistency/Feel.
It is too heavy in consistency and when it is under foundation it makes me feel like I am wearing WAY too much make up. Even when I only apply a teeny tiny bit. That feeling of being weighed down from a BASE? Not cool at all!

3. Shade.
This product, doesn't even do what it is supposed to do  It is MUCH too pale for me. When it goes on it makes me look washed out and almost sickly. When you apply powder over this is gets that horribly unattractive "cakey" look.

Here is what the product looks like:

I wouldn't recommend this to anyone. It is a complete waste of money if you ask me!

Vichy Essentielles Gift Set - What I will be Repurchasing.

Here is my original post.

The set contains:
Vichy Essentielles Facial Cream 50 ml €8.90

I like this face cream, and it is grand for when I am stuck but with my skin being so dry I only use it when I am stuck. It would be lovely for someone with normal skin though and it smells so beautifuly like roses. But because it doesn't suit my skin I will not be repurchasing it.

Vichy Essentielles Softening Shower 200 ml €5.90

This is beautiful. It foams up really easily with lovely soft bubbles and it is definitely softening. I have terribly dry skins in areas like my back and elbows and I love how this makes my skin feel. I will definitely be repurchasing it. I am pretty sure it is only around €6 too.

Vichy Essentielles Body Cream-Milk 200 ml €6.90

Oh my god this smells just as gorgeous as the other products and works amazingly with the shower gel. I feel naked if I don't use both at the same time. At €6.90 for 200 ml I would highly recommend this hydrating body milk.

Vichy Essentielles Foaming Facial Cleanser 100 ml  €4.90

So I am a bit of a Face Cleanser crazy and while I love the smell of this one I prefer ones with granules in them and this doesn't have any and I don't feel like it is very hydrating. I feel it is a bit harsh on my dry skin so I wont be repurchasing this as there are so many other ones that work better.

All in all it is a mixed bag but there are some gems in there that I don't want to live without!

The Liebster Blog Award and I'm back!

Hey guys,

So I know I was away for ages there but I was just so busy with the Theatre Festival and then the last few days I have been suffering withdrawal symptom. It is very intense and then to go back to "real life" is just a shock to the system.

While I was away I was awarded The Liebster Blog Award from the lovely beautylifeandthingsilike.

Firstly I would like to link back to her  blog beautylifeandthingsilike and suggest that you all go check her out. She is so lovely and her blog is such a great read! Also I find it is really lovely to read Irish beauty blogs because at least you can source most of the stuff. Go check out her blog and follow her! She is lovely!

The Liebster Award is designed to bring well deserved additional recognition to those bloggers with less than 300 followers.  If you receive the award you link back to the blogger that nominated you and nominate 3 more blogs.

Now to the hard part. There are a lot of people I would award this to but I am going to narrow my awards to the blogs that I get excited when I see they have posted a new post andI can't ACTUALLY wait to catch up on their posts. As they say on X Factor this is in no particular order.

Cornflake Girl: I swear I smile every time I see she has posted and I have to immediately read it. Go check her out she seems a genuinely lovely lady!

Artdonatella: Another blog that I can't wait to check out again, now that I am back in the world of blogging! Please give her blog a look cause she is a great.

Everything Girlie: I just love reading Irish beauty blogs because I can usually find the things they are blogging about and this blog is no exception. Karen seems like a lovely girl too and I love her blog.

Please check out all these blogs because they are great reads and lovely girls!

Thanks again to beautylifeandthingsilike for the award.

I hope to get back into blogging slowly because it has taken me three days to put this post together which just is not like me. So bear with me over the next wee while as I ease myself back in. I have a few bits in the pipeline (I mean in my drafts) but if you want to see anything in particular then let me know.

I am so very sorry for neglecting you guys.

Hey guys,

This post is just to apologise for not being around. As some of you will know I am working as a volunteer for the International Dublin Gay Theatre Festival and I have literally been in the theatre for all of the last week and will be for the next week.

I wanted to thank you all because I reached 50 followers and received my first Blog award from beautylifeandthingsilike during this time and haven't been able to do anything about it. I promise you all that when this is all over I will get back to the blogging and I may even have a tiny giveaway!

On that note I am getting ready to run back to the theatre to open up.

If any of you fancy taking in a show in the festival the website is www.gaytheatre.ie.
